Bay Area Procrastinators Begin 'Panic Shopping'

Visa Survey Releasing Monday to Show How Many Bay Area Shoppers Still Have Christmas Gifts to Buy and How Much They Will Spend

On Monday, December 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., Visa Inc.'s Jason Alderman will release results of a survey conducted over the December 14-16 weekend that will reveal how many Bay Area consumers still need to buy Christmas gifts, how many have yet to purchase any gifts, and how much they are expected to spend.

The survey results will be released at a press conference held in San Francisco's Union Square. In addition to the data, Visa will also warn people at the press conference to avoid ‘panic shopping' out of desperation to get a gift – any gift – before Christmas. Tips will be provided for staying on budget in the final frenzied shopping days.
