Vice Admiral (retired) Cutler Dawson - President and Chief Executive Officer of Navy Federal Credit Union, Member of the President's Council on Financial Literacy
Cutler Dawson is the President/CEO of Navy Federal Credit Union, which has been named a FORTUNE "100 Best Companies to Work For" financial institution. Navy Federal is the world's largest credit union, and boasts more than 7,000 employees, $34 billion in assets, and three million members, served by 150 branch offices, worldwide. Mr. Dawson's impressive Naval career spanned 35 years, and he attained the rank of Vice Admiral. During his career, he commanded four ships, the Enterprise Battle Group, and was the Commander of the Second Fleet/Striking Fleet Atlantic. Mr. Dawson also had numerous assignments in the Pentagon and on Capitol Hill, including the Navy's Chief of Legislative Affairs and Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Resources, Requirements and Assessments.
Mr. Dawson is a member of the President's Advisory Council on Financial Literacy. He is also a member of the board of the National Association of Federal Credit Unions, the Consumer Federation of America and the Armed Services YMCA. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Navy Federal Financial Group, Navy Federal's Credit Union Service Organization. Mr. Dawson is a 1970 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and a 1986 graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He holds a master's degree in financial management from the Naval Postgraduate School. He is married with two children.
