Visa employee volunteers provided financial education resources to approximately 500 elementary-aged students at the third annual Back to School Fair presented by the Redskins Charitable Foundation and Catholic Charities on August 12. The 1st–5th grade students from the D.C. Metro Area visited FedExField, home of the Washington Redskins, to receive information and items to prepare them for the upcoming school year. Visa gave each student who participated a calculator and financial literacy resources provided by Practical Money Skills. This included a copy of the Financial Football game and Guardians of the Galaxy: Rocket’s Powerful Plan comic book. Kids visiting the booth also played Financial Football and Peter Pig’s Money Counter to introduce them to financial basics in a fun and engaging way. Services for children included dental exams, school physicals, haircuts, backpacks, school supplies and more. The goal was to host an event that helps children and their families prepare for the school year.
