On Wed., September 23, executives and guests from Visa Inc. visited the New York Stock Exchange to celebrate the launch of Financial Soccer a free, 2010 FIFA World Cup™ branded video game that combines the world's most popular sport with an award-winning financial literacy curriculum. To mark the occasion, Joseph W. Saunders, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Visa Inc., rang the Opening Bell and was joined by NYSE Euronext CEO Duncan Niederauer and World Cup stars Landon Donovan of the Los Angeles Galaxy and Brian McBride of the Chicago Fire. Prior to the bell-ringing, copies of Financial Soccer were distributed to each trader on the Exchange floor. The NYSE will use the game as part of its ongoing financial literacy outreach with teachers across the country. As a global payments technology company, Visa has worked for over a decade to increase financial inclusion through innovative products, services, payments expertise and financial literacy programs. Visa underscored its commitment at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Conference, later that day.
